Your child’s first 30 days are free, starting with a private one-on-one introductory lesson. Parents are welcome to watch.
At the end of that lesson, if you decide Mastery is the right fit and enroll then, turn in your Pass. Its value comes off your tuition every month, for as long as your child trains.
If you decide not to enroll, there is no obligation to continue. If you enroll later, regular rates apply.

What else should I expect?
The things families want to know before they commit, answered before you ask.
01UniformNo uniform is needed to start.
Comfortable clothes and bare feet are fine for the introductory lesson and the free period. If your family enrolls, your child’s Mastery uniform is included.
02EquipmentNothing to buy for the free period.
Sparring gear comes later, once your child is training at a level where they use it.
03Belt testingNo belt-testing fees.
Testing is included in tuition: every 16 weeks on Discovery, every 8 weeks on Growth and Achievement.
04Optional programsOpportunities, never requirements.
Leadership and other programs sit outside regular monthly tuition. No child is held back for skipping them.
05Membership commitmentThe beginner program is a six-month agreement.
Real growth takes consistency. When your family enrolls, your child begins with a six-month Mastery membership, reviewed with you in person before you sign anything.
The first monthly payment is due at enrollment, and your child’s uniform is included. Six months gives your child time to settle in, make friends, practice and start collecting real proof of what they can do.
You do not need to make a black belt decision today.
06Missed timeTime away can be added to the end.
Memberships are not paused. Extended time away can be added to the end of the agreement, so your child still gets the training they committed to. Illness, travel and school seasons are normal, and we work around them.

Kids karate belt progression at Mastery Troy
Children don’t just earn belts. They collect evidence.
18 belts, a test about every two months. The first belt comes in roughly two months, before the week most kids want to quit something new. Every stripe and every retry becomes proof: “I’m getting better.”

Kids karate questions from Troy parents
What ages do you teach?
Ages 3 through 17. Tiny Tigers (3–4) and Little Dragons (5–6) have their own classes. Children 7 and up start in our Beginners class and add Leadership Training at green belt.
What happens at the introductory lesson?
It’s a private, one-on-one lesson with Mr. Strecker. We get to know your child, teach a few basics at their pace, and finish with a small win they can be proud of. You watch the whole thing.
Does my child need any experience?
No. Most children start with no experience at all. The first lesson is private and taught at your child’s pace, so beginners are never behind.
Can parents watch?
Yes, always. Parents watch the introductory lesson and every class after it.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable clothes they can move in, and bare feet on the mat. No uniform or equipment is needed to start.
What if my child is shy or nervous?
That is who the private first lesson is for. We start slow, celebrate small wins, and never push a child past what feels safe.
How long are classes?
Kids classes are 30 minutes. Leadership Training classes are 45 minutes.
How much are kids karate classes?
Tuition is $149/month for once a week, $249/month for twice a week, and $299/month for unlimited training. Enroll at the end of the introductory lesson and your Free 30-Day Pass takes $25, $50 or $70 off every month, for as long as your child trains.
Is there a contract?
The beginner program is a six-month agreement. Terms, billing and cancellation are reviewed with you in person before you sign. There is no obligation to enroll after the introductory lesson.
